Much thanks to the Community Council for sending this on.
More than well worth a read through. 🙂
It’s been a great year for Ballyboughal and Ballyboughal Community Council. We were recognised, by coming joint second in the whole of Ireland, in the 2015 National Pride of Place awards last month, and subsequently Fingal County Council awarded BCC best Representative Group in the whole of Fingal. These awards would not have been possible without the hard work of ALL of the community groups working in Ballyboughal.
The Community Council is only as good as the community and groups we represent. In this respect I would like to thank all of the voluntary groups that supported our efforts, in particular; Ballyboughal GFC, Tidy Towns, Pitch & Putt, 39th Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, Foroige Youth Club, The Hedgerow Society, Saint Patrick’s Hall Committee, Senior Citizens, Fingal Folk Club, Scoil Seamus Ennis, Athletic’s Club, Ballyboughal.net, Church of the Assumption Choir & Gospel Singers, NIFTI and Ballyboughal National School. It’s been a privilege to describe the great work you all do in our small community. Special thanks to Hugh Fitzsimons and Eoin Delaney for their fantastic support in helping us pull our “Spirit of Ballyboughal” photographic and video exhibition together.

Many thanks to the many helpers and sponsors in the community that get stuck in and support us whenever they are called upon. Your encouragement and the support of the wider community at events makes it all worthwhile. I would also like to thank the members of the Community Council committee who worked so hard during the year on all of the projects we undertook; Maureen O’Connor, Caitriona Hoey, James O’Reilly, Vicky Geoghegan, Rory Homan, Denise Hennessey, Ronnie Delaney, and Rose Counihan. Congratulations and thanks to our very own Mayor of Fingal, Cllr David O’Connor, for his ongoing support in the background. With so many great groups and volunteers our small village can look forward to 2016 with great confidence.
