Last night the Ballyboughal Community Council met and to my surprise…. there was actually a great attendance.
I went along. Never been there…. but I went along.
Of course Michael Kennedy TD, Clare Daly and even Trevor Sargeant turned up.
So what came up in conversation that may make you sit up straight in your chair….?
- The Cnoc Dubh development opposite the pub: I suggested the back walls of the houses and the landscaping be completed as per the original plans submitted to Fingal County Council. Michael Kennedy said he’ll look into it. As whether anything will happen….? But what an eyesore
- There was a suggestion of some traffic calming at the 4 houses just after the pertol station. Sooner the better!
- The road from Ballyboughal to Blakes Cross…. guess what ? it’s gonna be lifted again!
- Oh yes… a toxic landfill. Yes Toxic! may be going into the Naul. Delightful
Apparently the toxic waste is mixed with a concrete [kinda] solution and the blocks when they harden are placed in the ground. That’ll brighten up the village….? - On a nicer note… I suggested maybe a farmers market of some form like the Christmas market Caroline Delaney did in the school… but once per month [or more]. I think that maybe on the we’ll look into it list as well.
- The Nifti bus service apparently is doing well… I’ve never used it. I don’t even have a time table and I don’t believe the NIFTI website is live yet.
- Pot holes…. yip. That was spoke about. And moving on

- Ronnie Delaney for President of Ballyboughal. He runs the pitch and putt, the carol service, the new music group that’s starting today…. the list goes on. I personally think he’s been cloned. OK that wasn’t on the list…. but it should be.
Have I missed something….. wanna know more ?
