Business Advertising @ Ballyboughal.net

There is a difference I guess between local news and what is considered business advertising. In this and with regardĀ  to Ballyboughal.net – I know it all takes time.

In the last few months however, things have changed and it is a regular request to have a business noted here in it’s many varying formats. There are many – and the many requests vary. A lot.

Whilst this is all good, great to see and for the better – there is a difference between what is local news and what is essentially advertising.

Like anything, there are costs to running anything. This site is no different. And for businesses/ advertising we will now be asking for a donation, a few bob, spondulas, some dosh, a buck, a clam, some dough, a few shillings, frogskins, duckets, the loot, licker, some bones, honk, lolly, moola -or- moolah, some readies or finally wonga.

This will do one or two things – you may say either

  • a] stuff that
  • b] well that’s fair enough

If your answer is A] it means I have more time to walk Ballyboughal’s hedgerows with my daughter. If you’re answer is B] then that’s fair enough – and I might be able to throw a few bob towards the sites costs which Adrian and Peter have paid to date. Either or, I don’t really mind.

The sites intention was to be local news, information, where do I go, what to do on a Friday and who achieved what last week. If we can continue to do that and cover costs – I’ll be very pleased. At the moment it’s simply leaning far too much in favour of too much time and all of the money.

If we only spend a little less time doing the site, but can put more time into making the local news better – I’ll be a happy camper and the site will be a better place to visit.

adrian and Peter – about time you got a helping hand on the website just a little surprised it took a business from so far outside of the village !

Lorraine – a very big well done to you and The Grange Cafe for putting your hand out and offering assist with Ballyboughal.net. if for nothing else one now knows now the site has a little more definite of a future.
It is only when something local is gone that we tend to appreciate it that so much more.

Peter and Adrian – in closing I know of not one who would take your place and do this for the better of the community for so long and at their own cost.
    well done all
