live match updates from here...

You know Ballyboughal Rangers GFC are in the Junior Championship Finals this Sunday 4th October…. the first time since 1967

Well I got to thinking about those that maybe couldn’t make it to the match. Maybe you live abroad or are too far away… maybe the wife [for example ūüėČ ] is staying at home to mind the new borns or Auntie Molloy is just out of hospital and can’t go…. Whatever the case maybe, I think I’ve got the ideal solution for you.

Ballyboughal will be live texting commentary on the match to your computer screen.

Sounds funny if you’ve never heard of it before but it works… If )

...

or follow on twitter if you can't...?

It all works through a piece of kit called twitter…

What is twitter…?
it’s very simply a text message sent from a phone to a computer screen.

How do you follow the commentary…?
if you click here www.twitter.com/ballyboughal you will see all of the updates appear live every time you refresh the page – to see an update sent.

Make life a little easier…?
If however you register on twitter [to do so – click here] or you are registered already… then you can reply to the texts [known as tweets] that appear on screen as long as you start each sentence with @ballyboughal – then they will be texted to me. You must also follow @ballyboughal twitter to see messages we have written.

Make Life easier again…?
if you are on twitter already… then sign up to tweetdeck – click here and the page will automatically refresh for you

What made me want to do this…. well how about a Ballyboughal man in Australia who sent me this email. Hello to Christopher O’Brian in Queensland ūüôā who can’t [obviously ūüėÜ ] be at the match –¬† here’s what Chris had to say…. His nephew Eoin will be playing on Sunday.

Hi peter      just a short note to say thank you for your return mail   we are very impressed with your ballyboughal website  liked the documentary and history presented by anne lynch of the old church of ballyboughal    also peter next time you are down at the watering hole you have to tell the young man behind the bar it will cost him (hahaha) for his photo to be put on the queensland internet  like your docomentery on the harvest  it is hard to believe that we are 14,000kilometers apart and with a touch of a button we know whats going on in ballyboughal  thats technology for you  all the best to the boys on Sunday  from down under chris
