According to Triathalon Ireland
Naas Triathlon Club put on a fantastic opener to the 2012 season this morning at Punchestown racecourse. The 3.5k run, 20k cycle and 3.5k run was tackled by over 230 competitors ranging from beginners to National Champions.
On the men’s side it was Cian Delaney of Fingal Tri Club who took victory ahead of 2011 Olympic Distance National Champion Joe Lynch. Gavin Crawford was close behind in 3rd.
Aoife Lynch took the honours in the women’s race with a comfortable 2 minute margin over Tamara Maxantova in 2nd. Denise Molloy rounded out the podium positions in 3rd.
