Oh No For Kevin Rowe….

...

I got a call late Saturday evening. It was Kevin Rowe.

K: remember the run I was meant to do for the Ballyboughal [GAA] Under 10′s this Sunday…

P: yeah Sure Kev mate, that tomorrow isn’t it…. aren’t you supposed to be…

K: Yeah Pete, supposed to but I’m on crutches

P: When, who, how…… what ?!

K: Thursday. Playing a match. Leg’s in bits

Never one to let the side down. Kevin had a replacement to run for him and promised me he’d be there at the finish line to meet [the other] Kevin. He’s raised about € 680 so far, that’s almost a set of jersey’s for the under 10′s a far as Kevin is concerned.

The photo above came with this short email late last night

Leg in tatters, kev done it in 1hr 49 not bad for a mountain run
cheers
kev

As far as I am concerned, anyone who is simply doing it for a love of the game, for Ballyboughal [more than that] and for the kids deserves a standing ovation. Well done [to both] Kevin[s]. You should be very proud.

Sometimes, there’s just just nothing you can do except sit it out on the sidelines and cheer the others on. ;)

How can you support Kevin:

  • There is a sponsorship form in the Mace shop and Enrico’s
  • Gary Fay will be giving out cards to the lads at training
  • contact Gary o868510821 or Kevin o863395527
  • Leave a comment and simply wish Kevin all the best
