I just love the way I get Ballyboughal mentioned by almost everyone I meet… In this case Morgan Jones of Carmody and Jones and The Emergency. Even if it is intended for the garden blog.

Anyhow, the big man plays The Bankers Comedy club in Dublin City Centre this Saturday 17th April at 8pm. Go. See. The man is a legend.

first time to lift the junior cup….?

One would think that for the Ballyboughal junior team that lifting the junior cup on Sunday last that it was their first time….. I got a knock on the door on Monday evening to tell me otherwise….

and so in 1983 Cian Delaney got to lift the junior cup….. a little taller now Ronnie took this one on Sunday night 26 years laters

Dave Allen *is* one of all time sketch maestros of this century. In my opinion, he probably never actually got the full credit [in the fame/ acclaim sense] that he deserved – but you can be sure that those who sat in [and who had 6 channels - at the time - ah the good oul' days] throughout the late ’70′s and ’80′s will remember the genius that he was; Those who don’t but consider themselves comedy buffs – I know you will appreciate this.

It’s the usual-ish but it really is to this day absolutely amazing to watch – I love it… don’t forget to laugh…. it used to be cheer me up friday – and we did the survey to which 100% said yes bring it back Like all things great in life its not until its gone that it is appreciated and so – it returns! However I felt it better, for all and particularly those who suffer with a good dose of the Start of the week Blues – that it became Cheer me Up Monday… and so with that in mind i’ll start with ten of comedys greats, the old croners, oldies but goldies so to speak – This is Friday, it is now called CHEER ME UP MONDAY – but you were used to Friday – so the 2nd one is Monday – hmmmm anyhow enjoy

My years are from a recent picture then onto 1976, 1974 and 1956… of course i threw in Rick from 1970 and Darragh all presidential looking from 1956 and one from Maries… suits you sir/ lady!

this fella takes a little bit to get going. My gran son bought the video for me at christmas. I ony opened it now. He thought this was funny. He’s moving into Boughal soon. I’d prefer he only came and visit. Heres your sweets i bought you. Your not mine. Now away with you and I watch the racing in piece. Nice little chap. But the racing is hard to see when a little fella is dancing in front of the screen. Good kid but call when her programmes are on.
