With all that in mind – this was a charity event. It was good fun which makes life always easier. It was also about friends whom I already know or had not seen in a long while.

That said this is Ballyboughal.net and whilst Andrew Stanley is from Swords… Jason Byrne – the mentalist is [a blow in - sure aren't we all], myself and Aido were there.

I have few rules in my life to abide by. But the few will always be.

IF you go a step further – and give someone some money – and it makes you feel good – then you really must be a cool dude.

By the way Jason does the lotto in the petrol station in Ballyboughal – if you see him in there – go kick in the shin and tidy up his hair!

If you weren’t there and you need a good night…. [you do you know] – pick up a newspaper – and get to a charity event somewhere – you will enjoy yourself or you can wait coz this one’ll be there next year.

ive not been well again. happy new year my arse. happy Christmas? not for me. the grandkids were sqaushing cake into the carpet singing jingle bells and that stuff and the other one wanting kisses under the missletoe. happy? i dont think so. whats happy about that?

i didnt go near the pub. i dont want to. why would i. the pub. i rather play monolopy. thats what they have a monolopy. i wanted to go to kettles this week but im told the music is cancelled on a thursday there now. shut up mcmahon thats just anpother excuse not to have to hear you play that girlzone crap on the guitar. so whats happy?

its freezing. my legs are sore. maybe i’m just tired. Sure maybe im still tired of listening to that gardener fella harping on about how e loves trees so much. happy? my arse

but maybe things are looking up. i saw the hairdressers opened opposite the monolopy. i never liked barbers much. full of old men babbling on about shite i might go up and get my hair done. the ladies might make me a cup of tea and a bisciut. Id like that very much. of course i need my oap discount. do they do that?

and while im here. 2fm. ii get my tv and radio licence free. i paid my taxes long enough. give me back rick o’ shea. happy Christmas to you too ye feckin shower. I liked him. i wonder do they have a radio in the hairdressers.

Bill Hicks. enough said. If you know his material – you know how funny he really is. My problem with Cheer me up Monday is finding material without the f word. Anyhow this Hicks at his best in my opinion – or – at the best tha I could find. Brilliant. Genius.

Dave Allen *is* one of all time sketch maestros of this century. In my opinion, he probably never actually got the full credit [in the fame/ acclaim sense] that he deserved – but you can be sure that those who sat in [and who had 6 channels - at the time - ah the good oul' days] throughout the late ’70′s and ’80′s will remember the genius that he was; Those who don’t but consider themselves comedy buffs – I know you will appreciate this.

it is difficult to squeeze all of my -all time greats – favourite comedians into just 10 – but, there is no getting away from the fact that this legend is deserved of a place in the *oldie #* hall of fame – ladies and gentlemen – it may well be Monday but this should make you smile – if it doesn’t may I suggest a labotomy If you don’t have time to smile in life… may I suggest a large calculator. It’s the usual-ish but it really is to this day absolutely amazing to watch – I love it… don’t forget to laugh…. it used to be cheer me up friday – and we did the survey to which 100% said yes bring it back Like all things great in life its not until its gone that it is appreciated and so – it returns! However I felt it better, for all and particularly those who suffer with a good dose of the Start of the week Blues – that it became Cheer me Up Monday… and so with that in mind i’ll start with ten of comedys greats, the old croners, oldies but goldies so to speak – This is Friday, it is now called CHEER ME UP MONDAY – but you were used to Friday – so the 2nd one is Monday – hmmmm anyhow enjoy

fall in love with the web again…?

a host of over 300 legends gathered at the Irish web awards last night to celebrate everything that ‘we should fall in love with. The main brain of the night was of course The Big D and a fantabulous host was none other than The Rickster. My possé started with that of Aido, another Northsider Ben Wan kenobe, Aido eile and my good self.

This is the bit where I apologise for not listing a couple of hundred bloggers individually – but – if you do write about it or have photos – send me a note and I’ll pop it up here. In the mean time enjoy the pics!
