… Ronnie Delaney is at it again He owns the pitch and putt club, the carol singers, he plays in morning dew, he fixes jeeps and now he’s set up the Fingal Folk Club. So what’s it all about…. as far as I can gather it’s very much the family gig. A chance for [...] morning dew… You wouldn’t believe it of I told you but… some time ago I wrote here at Ballyboughal.net about how I like to see a little bit of something different happen in Ballyboughal…. well guess what… that wish has been granted. Whether it’s to do with this weblog or not I don’t know but [...] the village inn If you haven’t been to Ballyboughal in a while… or you haven’t been to O’Connors pub in a while then you may not be so aware that Kevin and Mark [pictured] have introduced Saturday night music. are you going…? You may be thinking small town pub brutal music ? [I say, You may [...] been a while since I saw these guys play live…. I thought there were more songs of theirs on youtube….. ? But I only found 2…. It’s only 2 seasons ago that the boys took the entire country by storm [and for those of you who have never heard them], ladys and gentlemen may I [re] [...] playing O' Connors Saturday night music in O’Connors? Yes you heard it here first…. A two piece band….? Mother of God what is the world coming to…?!! Yes the boys called Paddy Go Easy will play in the left hand side – the lounge in the pub this Saturday. Will this be every week…. ? My guess is [...] Until recently many folks in the general area would have over to Kettles on a Thursday night for the music session. Some would sit and play while others happily listened and enjoyed the aul banter. Initially the session started up in O’Connors many many years ago and its was renowned on the music scene as [...] i feckin have people say theres a recession. I say my arse there is. I get my pension. What do I care. I get my coal dropped around to me as well at Christmas time. Houses aren’t selling? What do I care. I have my house. You builders were too greedy anyway. So your houses [...] wayne and peter I was up in kettles with ‘herself’ two weeks ago and was really pleased to see and hear a guy called Wayne Brennan playing in “The Inn”. No backing tracks or that kind of thing… just good guitar playing, a bit of beat that you would find yourself bopping along to [unknowingly], a [...] i hear the stories of what is there to do. I hear people saying say there’s nothing here for you – so i’m going to try a list of what one can do in the *area*. How long the list gets is up to you – ish.
