I was talking recently about signing up for the pitch and putt club. It’s €30. For the year. Anyhow…. Yvonne tells me there’s a cup on. So I go to sign up. Booked out. 40 places. Gone. I hear Tommy Cooper. Just like that.
I went to the pitch and putt club website [go take a look and come back] and it tells me that this year the club is celebrating its 40th Anniversary, the Ruby year. To mark the occasion there will be a special once off ruby competition. It will be played off in series of knockout rounds resulting in 12 finalists on Sunday 28th June.
The knockout games will result in a back door system where first and second round losers will play off to meet third round winners for a knock out to get to the final placings on Sunday June 27th. The entry fee will be €10 with a guarantee of at least two games for each player. Entries closed draw made Monday 31st May 2010. Call the secretary on 085-1743748 for more information.
Sold out! I was blown away! In a good way. And credit were it is due el presidenté ronaldo has been trying to drag me there for ages. When I finally decide to take the curlers out of hair and do something…. sure what do I expect. To put in context…. I do not own a putter or a golf ball. I never have.
Onto brighter notes, the course is looking really well and the lads have done a great job looking after it. Sincerely, you should be very proud.
Happy 40th Ballyboughal Pitch and Putt Club. I shall book my spectators ticket. And my membership for next year!!
Thanks also to Noel for these pictures. They look really good full screen. Cheers Mate ![]()
