St Patrick’s Hall
A meeting took place on the 7th July in St Patricks Hall. It seems it’s future may be extremely bright. It seems it may also create some employment [?] and potentially a real and decent venue for the people of Ballyboughal.
At least thats what some were thinking anyway….. ? ![]()

| 01.00 | Welcome address: RD welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked them for taking the time to attend. An outline of the Fingal Leader Partnership was explained and the function of the Fingal Rural Task Force FRT, to bring rural projects to FLP for funding consideration. SK gave a briefing on FLP having been a board member at one stage and reassured the meeting that FLP was very much behind rural projects that would be presented through the FRT. | RD/SK |
| Outline of the needs of the users of the hall: CD explained how the hall to date is being used to it capacity with events taking place every evening Mon – Fri and groups are waiting for access due to the high demand. One example was a recent craft fair which had to be relocated to the JNS as there was not enough room in the hall for all the exhibitors. | CD/SK | |
| Information on funding available to community groups: RD explained the role of the FRT in bringing projects to FLP and outlined that there was still funding available for community based projects up to 75% of the capital costs to a maximum of €150k. Application for such funding would need to be made before end of July/10. | RD | |
| Discussion on needs of individual users A discussion around all the need of the community took place from the group representing their individual groups. The needs for full access to include wheelchair access plus toilet facilities to be included. PH Storage space to be considered as a top priority and the suggestion that space into the eve’s of the roof, under stage etc. to be maximised. CB suggested that letters be sough from individual groups using the hall outlining their needs to accompany the application. PD pointed out that his brother has vast civil engineering experience and that he would get an opinion from him following our production on a design/plan for the building. JF asked if the parish owners were aware of the proposal. RD explained that he had consulted with the PP Fr Denis Delaney and he was totally in favour of improving the facility. PD asked if the hall had a need for fundraising as he has access to some professional entertainers, comedians, and singers and suggested that show be staged in the hall in the near future to raise funds. | All | |
| Proposal to proceed with funding app: RD Put a proposal to the floor that we proceed with the application for funding. A show of hands in favour by full majority. | All | |
| Invitation to groups to have a rep on the hall committee: RD explained that to proceed we would need to enhance the Hall committee group from the current three members to represent more of the users of the facility. Invitations were extended to the floor and the below members will now join the committee.
